Baylor Bears: 22-2 (13-1)

Weakness

The Baylor Bears average over 84 points on the season which is the third-highest in the nation, the way they pile up those points, or more specifically, how they do not pile up the points could be their biggest weakness. The Bears get their points off turnovers and in transition, even their nation-leading 42 percent from three-point territory has benefitted greatly by Jared Butler getting ahead of the ball and spotting up in the corner.

The Bears’ half-court offense is dependant on threes because of the limited scoring threat they have in the post. Their lack of size on defense is also a concern as was demonstrated by the 20 points David McCormack scored as Kansas defeated Baylor.

Strength

Not only is Davion Mitchell the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, but he is joined on the conference All-Defensive Team by his teammates Jared Butler and Mark Vital. The Bears get nine steals per game which contributes to their opponents committing the sixth most turnovers per game.

Regardless of how many of their three-pointers come from the primary fast break, Baylor makes a lot. At almost a 42 percent success rate the Bears have the best three-point percentage in the nation, As an average 30 points are accumulated by the Bears from the three-point line each game.
