Breaking down the 3 finalists for 5-star forward prospect Michael Foster

Georgia Bulldogs
After a disappointing 2020-21 season combined with an offseason so far that has seen a near complete roster turnover for the Bulldogs, Georgia needs a player the caliber of Foster the most.
As mentioned previously, Georgia has seen a near complete roster turnover so far this offseason that has seen a vast majority of their roster enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. It is evident why the Bulldogs need a player the caliber of Foster badly as their lone guaranteed top returning frontcourt options currently are forwards Tyron McMillan and Jonathan Ned, both of whom combined to average 3.5 PPG and 2.7 RPG last season.
Senior forwards Andrew Garcia and PJ Horne could still both return next season by utilizing their extra year of eligibility, but the Bulldogs have also added to their frontcourt through the transfer portal. Virginia transfer Jabri Abdur-Rahim should step in to contribute immediately at multiple positions, while head coach Tom Crean also added Florida Atlantic transfer Jailyn Ingram and UIC transfer Braelen Bridges. Georgia also adds incoming 3-star power forward Tyrone Baker who could play a key role.
It is evident why Georgia needs a player like Foster next season so badly. If Foster chooses to take his talents to Athens later this week, it could spark some badly-needed momentum for Georgia this offseason. Foster potentially choosing the Bulldogs could certainly cause a “domino effect”, and potentially entice other big names to Athens via either the transfer portal or other highly-rated undecided recruits.
Foster would 100% be “the guy” at Georgia next season. Due to his dominant play style combined with a potential increase in shots and minutes, Foster would be one of the top players in the SEC next season. Despite the rough offseason so far for the Bulldogs, a potential addition of the 5-star forward would be a massive win for Georgia, and could be a catalyst to turn things around.
