SEC Basketball: 5 biggest storylines of 2021 offseason
By Matt Melton
How will LSU and Missouri look?
There are arguably no other teams in the SEC that will lose more production from last season than LSU and Missouri. Yes, these two will still return and have added talent, but they still have a lot of work to do this offseason to provide clarity on what is currently an unclear roster.
LSU will lose almost all of their notable production off a team that averaged 82.1 PPG and finished third in the SEC last season. The Tigers have already made a few notable additions headlined by Missouri transfer guard Xavier Pinson, but still have a lot of work to do to add to a seemingly unclear roster.
Missouri won’t necessarily lose the same amount of production as LSU, but will certainly sport some unfamiliar faces going into next season. An experienced Tigers’ team a year ago has already made some acquisitions combined with a few notable returning players, but will still look like a fairly new team in 2021-22.
While there are a few teams that will look different next season, there are arguably no two teams that with more roster uncertainty than LSU and Missouri. Expect these two teams to be extremely active this offseason, as these two badly need to make a big splash in the transfer portal or recruiting trail to fill multiple roster holes.
