Auburn Tigers

Biggest Need: Star Point Guard

Auburn will arguably have the deepest frontcourt of any team in the SEC next season headlined by 5-star forward Jabari Smith and North Carolina transfer Walker Kessler. The frontcourt is already set, even with a potential return of JT Thor, but the question at this point is 100% the backcourt.

Auburn’s backcourt currently consists of the returning Allen Flanigan combined with transfers Zep Jasper, Wendell Green, and Desi Sills. While this is a good group, adding a star guard to lead this group could potentially put the Tigers over the top. We saw how good the Tigers were when Sharife Cooper played last season, and if they can add a star point guard once again, Auburn could be a dangerous team next season.

Florida Gators

Biggest Need: Back-Up Big

The Gators are loaded with talent, particularly in the backcourt, after recent transfer additions. Penn State transfer Myreon Jones sticks out the most, but the additions of Fleming, McKissic, and incoming 4-star Kowacie Reeves will all be instant impact players.

While Florida’s roster appears set, the Gators could use a backup big. Colin Castleton should be one of the better big’s in the SEC, while Anthony Duruji and Boston College transfer CJ Felder should play prominent roles. A potential addition of 1-2 more frontcourt depth pieces could be the difference between Florida and the top of the SEC.
