NCAA Basketball: Analyzing the 4 options for Penn State transfer Izaiah Brockington
Iowa State Cyclones
After a dismal 2-22 season, a head coaching change, and the top three scorers are gone from the roster, the Cyclones are going through a complete rebuild. That poses the immediate question as to whether or not Brockington will want to leave a tough situation and enter another, with little chance at winning much next season.
What Brockington would have going for him is the chance to be the go-to guy on a Big 12 program. With Gabe Kalscheur and Tristan Enaruna also joining in, there’s some talent for the former Nittany Lion to work with. The chance to start and play 30-35 mpg is here with Iowa State if Brockington wants it.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
It’s year two of the Steve Forbes era with the Demon Deacons and the roster continues to build. They’ll be bringing back their two leading scorers in Davien Williamson and Isaiah Mucius and have brought in several transfers, including Jake LaRavia and Damari Monsanto.
Although they’re coming off a six-win season, Wake Forest does have some promising pieces and Brockington would be another capable double-digit scorer to have and get a sizable role. It wouldn’t be out of the question that he ends up leading the team in scoring if this was the location.
These are four unique options for Brockington to consider and all of them have legit pros that could make him happy. Arkansas gives him the best chance to win, BYU fits best, while both Iowa State and Wake Forest can make him a leading option on offense. It won’t be too long before we know the answer but one of these programs will be able to say that they landed a capable starter this week.
