Bryant Bulldogs

On paper, it seems as if the Bulldogs don’t stand a chance in this recruiting battle. But Mitchell has turned down power conference programs before so why not again? It would be an even tougher ask for Bryant, as they plan in the Northeast Conference, a perennial one-bid league whose teams normally get a 15 or 16 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Head coach Jared Grasso has been known for offering many players and would love to land Mitchell to replace departing senior forward Hall Elisias. What could make things compelling here is that the team returns their top four leading scorers from this past season, including 16 ppg guards Peter Kiss and Michael Green.

After finishing second in the Northeast this past season, the Bulldogs already will be the preseason favorites in the league in 2022. With Mitchell on board, they would be the heavy favorite and a mid-major juggernaut.

*Green transferred to Robert Morris this offseason, leading three double-digit starters returning.

Florida State Seminoles

After missing out on five-star center prospect Efton Reid last week, the Seminoles are still looking for an offensively talented big man to round out the roster. There is plenty of depth already there but none of them has the offense that Mitchell possesses.

There’s plenty of firepower elsewhere on the roster, including incoming transfers Caleb Mills and  Cam’Ron Fletcher, along with a top-5 recruiting class. If Mitchell joins, they’d jump from a currently projected preseason top-15 team to potentially in the top-5, and even ahead of Duke and UNC as the team to beat in the ACC.
