Kentucky Wildcats

The Wildcats have completely revamped its roster for the upcoming season after a brutal past campaign. So it’s hard to examine the kind of roster they’ll have by the time Mitchell would potentially arrive. What we do know is that the projected starter at small forward (Davidson grad transfer Kellan Grady) will be gone after next yer, leaving a clear open spot for the five-star target.

Of course, head coach John Calipari will surely look to add other five-star prospects to join current class of 2022 guard commit Skyy Clark. With Kentucky looking to run a new offense, the fit will be a question for Mitchell to consider. But while some former five-stars have flamed out in Lexington, many others have thrived, which is a great selling point for the player to consider too.

Missouri Tigers

The last time the Tigers landed a five-star prospect, it was Michael Porter Jr., who played in just a few games due to back issues. They’re hoping to get much more out of Mitchell if they pull off the recruiting upset, giving the prospect a nearby program who would let him be the clear star and focal point of the offense.

Missouri made the NCAA Tournament this past season but will lose just about everyone that played a key role this offseason. They did land several transfers both on the perimeter and in the frontcourt and currently has no seniors. So they’ll be experienced and ready to win by the time Mitchell would arrive and could be sold on being the missing piece.
