North Carolina Tar Heels

The Tar Heels are coming off landing top-100 point guard Seth Trimble and already have big man Wil Shaver as part of the 2022 class. They’re also going after power forward targets De’Ante Green and Issac Traudt and five-star center Dereck Lively in the frontcourt.

The wing position isn’t a major need, as Leaky Black, Puff Johnson, and Kerwin Walton are currently on the roster. Walton is a 42% three-point shooter so that isn’t a huge need for Taylor to add in, but the team overall struggles in that area so adding someone capable of doing that in the 2022 class makes sense. But barring an unexpected early departure, it’s hard to see the playing time for this recruit with the Tar Heels.

Syracuse Orange

Shooting perimeter players is something the Orange thrives on under head coach Jim Boeheim, including star guard Buddy Boeheim and point guard Joe Girard. Assuming he’s gone after next season, there will be a need for someone like Taylor to come in and help spread the floor. The team already has five-star forward Kamari Lands in the 2022 class but he and Taylor can play together, although incoming top-30 freshman Benny Williams may be around for more than one year.

However, the biggest factor here is the status of Coach Boeheim. He’s not on the hot seat but with the retirement of Roy Williams and future retirement of Mike krzyzewski, there’s the potential that the Syracuse leader won’t be around for all four years of Taylor’s college career. That’s a factor to consider in this recruitment.
