NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top-100 PG Tre Holloman final 6 teams
Marquette Golden Eagles
The Eagles just found their point guard for next season in Maryland transfer Darryl Morsell but will need one for the future. There’s a lot of promise for incoming top-100 freshman Stevie Mitchell, with Kameron Jones also set to get minutes in the backcourt.
This comes down to whether or not the program believes in Mitchell as the future. With a new head coach in Shaka Smart, he’s likely not attached to any of the incoming freshmen and would be willing to over-recruit them. It also will be interesting to see what the new system is at Marquette, and whether or not Holloman fits.
Michigan State Spartans
Not only are the Spartans basketball team after Holloman but the football program has offered him a scholarship as well. But focusing on the hoops side, Michigan State is continuously looking to solidify the point guard position, after going through some big struggles this past season.
Northeastern transfer Tyson Walker will be the starter next season but it’s undetermined how long he’ll stay or if he’s even good enough to play at the Big Ten level. The same goes for four-star freshman ball-handler Jaden Akins so if the staff wants to add another guard to cover all bases, that makes sense. But if these guys do play well, where would the playing time be for Holloman?
