Arizona State Sun Devils

The Sun Devils have brought in a number of transfers this offseason, mainly on the perimeter with players such as Marreon Jackson, Jay Heath and DJ Horne. Among the frontcourt newcomers are incoming freshman center Enoch Boayke, as well as JUCO transfer Alonzo Gaffney. The frontcourt is still a bit thin in terms of proven production and after last season’s issues inside, this is a team that should get as many forwards as they can.

Obanor would be able to start at the four-spot and give them a proven double-digit contributor on offense. How he defends may be a bit of a question but after losing guys such as Alonzo Verge, Remy Martin and Marcus Bagley, a guy that could give them around 15 ppg would be such a huge plus for Arizona State.

Houston Cougars

Considering that he’s from Houston originally, it would make sense if the reigning Final Four participant made a run at Obanor. They landed a pair of backcourt transfers in Kyler Edwards and Taze Moore, while also bringing back some star guards in Tramon Mark and Marcus Sasser.

With the addition of UConn center transfer Josh Carlton along with Fabian White and Reggie Chaney, Houston’s frontcourt is great defensively but has some offensive limitations. Having an offensive stud such as Obanor would make them elite on offense and undisputedly a top-10 preseason team for next season.
