Louisville Cardinals

The Cardinals have top-150 wing D’Ante Davis part of the 2022 class but needs to add at least one guard since Florida transfer Noah Locke and Marshall point guard Jarrod West will be around for just one more season. Former four-star prospect D’Andre Davis is still around but in terms of potential playing time, this option offers that as well.

This is a program that after missing the NCAA Tournament, has a lot of role players but a lack of stars. The backcourt is a pressing need but Louisville is also after class of 2022 targets Chance Westry and Tyrell Ward. The ACC team is in solid shape under head coach Chris Mack but is currently lacking strap power. Rice has the chance to change that and in a short time.

Maryland Terrapins

Guard Aaron Wiggins is officially off to the NBA Draft, while both Eric Ayaya and Rhode Island transfer Fatts Russell will be around for just one more year. Even with Utah transfer Ian Martinez, it’s wide open on the perimeter for a player such as Rice to come in and have a big early impact.

Not only is Maryland another “local” option, but they also offer Rice the chance to handle the ball more than he would potentially at Georgetown, as the point guard spot is wide open. Unless Martinez and Hakim Hart break out this upcoming season, this looks to be a great option for Rice, checking off all the boxes for what a prospect would want.
