NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top 7 options for 2022 G Joseph Hunter Jr.
Fresno State Bulldogs
The hometown option makes its way to the latest cut but it’ll be hard for them to convince Hunter that they’re the best option, barring staying close to family being the most important factor. Fresno State has been stuck in the middle of the Mountain West for several years, and that looks to be the case for next season as well.
One thing that the Bulldogs have going for them is that there are no seniors on the roster for next season. So if everyone returns, including 7’0 all-conference big man Orlando Robinson who led the team with 14.6 ppg and 9.2 rpg last season, this team with Hunter would make a compelling case for being a true Mountain West contender in 2022-23.
Nebraska Cornhuskers
The backcourt for the Cornhuskers features seniors Alonzo Verge Jr. and Kobe Webster, along with brothers Trey and Bryce McGowens. Trey is a rising senior, while five-star freshman guard Bryce could very well be a one-and-done player.
This is an option that would give Hunter likely playing time as a freshman and for as long he stays at Nebraska. But this is a program still looking to get out of the bottom of the Big Ten basement and if the McGowens leave, will have to rebuild all over. If the desire to play in the Big Dance is a factor, this will be a rough destination.
