14. Georgia Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 13

Despite a rough start to the offseason where the Bulldogs lost almost every notable player from last season’s team, Georgia would also lose their top two leading scorers Sahvir Wheeler and KD Johnson to transfer as well. Despite this massive turnover, head coach Tom Crean and the Bulldogs have rebounded nicely since then to help fill out their 2021-22 roster.

Georgia has since added Gonzaga transfer guard Aaron Cook, who could play a massive role in the Bulldogs backcourt next season, to add to multiple previous additions headlined by Virginia transfer Jabri Abdur-Rahim and FAU transfer Jailyn Ingram. The Bulldogs will now enter the 2021-22 season as arguably the biggest unknown in the SEC, but it’s clear that there are a few pieces to be excited about as we inch closer to tipping off the season.

13. Vanderbilt Commodores

Previous Ranking: 14

Head coach Jerry Stackhouse and the Commodores have since lost star forward Dylan Disu to transfer, but have added noteworthy players including Minnesota transfer Liam Robbins and four-star SG Shane Dezonie. While Vanderbilt’s 2021-22 roster already looked talented going into this season, the real “difference-maker” for the Commodores made that even better about a week ago.

Scotty Pippen Jr, who averaged 20.8 PPG a year ago, announced his intentions to withdraw from the 2021 NBA Draft and return to Vanderbilt, giving the Commodores in the process one of the best pure-scorers in the SEC. Vanderbilt has talent going into this season, and with Pippen leading the way, could be a sneaky team to watch in 2021-22.
