12. Texas A&M Aggies

Previous Ranking: 11

The Aggies have since lost leading scorer Emanuel Miller to transfer but added his likely replacement in Duke transfer and former four-star recruit Henry Coleman. Aside from that one big move, however, head coach Buzz Williams and the Aggies roster have essentially been set for the past 1-2 months.

Four-star guard Manny Obaseki should help headline a Texas A&M team that struggled offensively a year ago, while the Aggies will also return notable depth in their backcourt. Texas A&M will have evident talent, and could potentially be a surprise team in the SEC with a few breakout 2021-22 seasons from notable players.

11. South Carolina Gamecocks

Previous Ranking: 12

The Gamecocks return a majority of their 2020-21 roster from a year ago, even despite recently losing star guard AJ Lawson to the NBA Draft. Even despite this loss, it’s clear that head coach Frank Martin will have depth throughout the roster to work with, headlined by Jermaine Couisnard and Keyshawn Bryant.

Coming off a down-year, South Carolina will bring in an experienced roster this season at all positions. With the combination of returning players, combined with new faces via recruiting and the transfer portal, the Gamecocks are certainly set up for a big bounce-back 2021-22 season in the SEC.
