Kentucky Wildcats

The Wildcats brought in a pair of transfer shooting guards this offseason in CJ Fredrick of Iowa and 5th-year grad transfer Kellan Grady from Davidson. With Grady set to leave after one year, Kentucky will certainly have to find a top-tier off-guard option to pair with Skyy Clark, a five-star combo guard and current class of 2022 commit for the program.

Only Duke can compete with the history of winning and consistently sending players to the NBA Draft on a yearly basis. But it’s important to note that there are other shooting guards on Coach John Calipari’s radar, including Cason Wallace and Chris Livingston. It’s been rumored that Wallace is the more likely bet to join Kentucky but the Wildcats can certainly take two of the three and have plenty of playing time for everyone.

Oklahoma Sooners

Ever since arriving at Oklahoma, new head coach Porter Moser has been aggressively targeting top-50 prospects in the 2022 class. They’ve yet to hit but with the recent announcement that the school will be going to the SEC in a year or two, that could be the boost needed to have the Sooners more viable with top-tier prospects.

If Sharpe wanted to, he could be the top offensive option for Oklahoma right out the gate as a freshman. With Marvin Johnson, Jordan Goldwire, Elijah Harkless, and Umoja Gibson all likely to leave a year from now, it would present the opportunity for Sharpe to be a lead guard and even handle the ball from time to time instead of just playing off the ball. But the Sooners will have to add plenty of talent alongside him in the 2022 class to have a good enough team to beat the others on the list.
