2. Can Arkansas make a run to the NCAA title?

The Arkansas Razorbacks carried the torch the longest in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.  Last year, they were close to their goal of a national title under Eric Musselman, falling to the Baylor Bears in the Elite Eight 81-72.

The Razorbacks haven’t been to the Final Four since 1994, back when they won their only title in school history. Shades of Nolan Richardson hover over the legacy that is Eric Musselman as he’s quickly changing the odds and has Arkansas on quite the path to success.

They’ve got some key additions from the transfer portal to make another run in the NCAA Tournament. Prolific scoring guard Chris Lykes (Miami) will surely bolster their offensive scoring attack.

He put up 15.5 points, 5.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals across two games before being sidelined with a season-ending injury. If he can get back to his old self, look for him to turn some heads in 2021-22.

Au’Diese Toney (Pittsburgh) is another changeover to the SEC. He put up 14.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, .2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest in 14 appearances this past season.

The first goal for this group? They’ve got to handle business in SEC Basketball action. J.D. Notae should keep things on the up and up on offense and given Lykes’ and Toney’s presence, they should be considered an experienced group.
