Arizona Wildcats

Although he’s not a point guard, Chandler could actually find a way to join the Wildcats’ core rotation if he didn’t take a mission, as the team will lose projected starter Justin Kier and Kim Aiken Jr. Star wing Bennedict Mathurin could very well be gone as well too. But assuming 2024 is the move, there should be plenty of playing time available as new head coach Tommy Lloyd continues to build his first couple of classes.

Under the Sean Miller era, the Wildcats have been one of the top programs out west. Coach Lloyd is hoping the Gonzaga success continues with him to the Pac-12 program, which has taken a step back compared to Oregon and UCLA. Since we don’t know how Coach Lloyd will do just yet, this is a wildcard option for Chandler. And if the program struggles, he may de-commit once he comes back after his mission.

BYU Cougars

Brigham Young University, home of many Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saint members, would be a great fit for Chandler, as they’re used to working with players coming off of two-year missions. They’re one of two local options for the prospect and will have a ton of playing time available.

Star guard Alex Barcello and grad transfer Te’Jon Lucas will be gone, along with Seneca Knight and Gideon George. The team will have a couple of talented prospects back from missions soon in Tanner Tolson, Richie Saunders, and Dallin Hall. Chandler would be joining a core of young guards but could very well be better than any of them, and getting a large role in the offense once he returns.
