20. Lynn Kidd | 6’10 Center | Virginia Tech Hokies

Lynn Kidd is probably one of the more dark horses of this year’s ACC basketball transfer list. He finds himself with the Virginia Tech Hokies after a not-so-memorable run with the Clemson Tigers in 2020-21.

The 6-foot-10, 235-pound big man appeared in just 33 total minutes of action across seven games for the Tigers before hitting the transfer portal this past season.

He’s still got potential in the tank. As an unproven prospect, Kidd’s job in 2021-22 isn’t a difficult one in the Hokies’ frontcourt. If he shows he can protect the rim, rebound, and run the floor, he shouldn’t have a hard time staying in the rotation.

With just Keve Aluma, Justyn Mutts, and David N’Guessan in the forward spot, there’s room for him to carve a place out for himself and give the Hokies some much-needed depth in the frontcourt.

He’s shown he’s capable of being a presence on both ends at IMG Academy, now he’ll just need to show he can translate his skills to the next level.

The Hokies finished in a tie for seventh in ACC basketball in 2020-21 in rebounding (33.8 rpg) and with no Devin Radford (Texas A&M), their leading rebounder from last year, there’s room for him to make a splash on the rebounding front.
