TCU Horned Frogs

The Frogs had a complete turnover on its entire roster outside of sophomore guard Mike Miles. Joining him are transfer newcomers, Damion Baugh, Shahada Wells, and Cashius McNeilly. There’s going to be plenty of room for any class of 2022 guards, with point guard P.J. Haggerty already on both.

Caldwell fits Coach Jamie Dixon’s preferred types of guards and considering how small some of the guards are on the current roster, this one would give them a big body on the perimeter. Of course, who knows what the program will do next offseason in terms of the transfer portal again but for the sake of roster stability, could use someone like Caldwell on board.

USC Trojans

Coming off making the NCAA Tournament with top-3 NBA Draft pick Evan Mobley, USC will be using a more collective approach for next season. It’ll give the guards an opportunity to shine more, including former four-star prospects, Reese Dixon-Waters and Malik Thomas.

The issue here for Caldwell is that there’s a lot unknown with this current backcourt group and they already have three-star shooting guard recruit Oziyah Sellers committed, as well as five-star forward Kajani Wright. There are some pros and cons here but this is also a program that likes to land top-50 and better talent so a few months from now, could land an even better recruit that could slide Caldwell down the Trojans’ future rotation.

West Virginia Mountaineers

This team is going to have one of the oldest backcourts in the country, with seniors Sean McNeil and Taz Sherman coming back, while Old Dominion grad transfer Malik Curry projected to start at point guard. There will be complete turnover a year from now, with three-star guards Kobe Johnson and Seth Wilson part of the future core, along with 2022 commit Josiah Davis.

Caldwell fits what West Virginia likes and his size and toughness are an ideal fit for “Press Virginia”. And right now, there’s plenty of room available for him to come in and have an impact for head coach Bob Huggins. I like this option for Caldwell and think he’ll be a good rotational piece and could develop into a lot more in the right scenario for the program.
