Point Guard

Chris Lykes joining the Arkansas basketball rotation from Miami puts the Razorbacks back into play as the early favorite to win the SEC basketball regular-season crown, at the very least. Before getting hurt in 2020-21, Lykes had become quite the commodity for the Hurricanes.

He’s an explosive guard despite his size at 5-foot-7. He uses all of his quickness on both ends of the floor to make things happen.

As a junior, he put up 15.4 ppg, 2.4 apg, 2.1 rpg, and 1.1 spg while shooting 38.1 percent from behind the arc on 2.0 3-pointers made in 2019-20. He brings quite the presence on both ends at the point guard spot.

Davonte Davis holds potential as the backup to Lykes. He averaged 8.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg , 2.1 apg, and 1.2 spg in 2020-21. He appeared in 30 games of action (17 starts) this past year while averaging 23.8 mpg. While he isn’t a perimeter shooter, he’s capable of creating off the wing and running the show.

K.K. Robinson awaits in the wings as well after appearing in 11 games in 2020-21 and averaging 2.6 ppg and 1.0 apg. His role should grow as Coach Musselman looks to find all-around depth with this group.
