Shooting Guard

Au’Diese Toney is another new name that joins Arkansas basketball in 2021-22 after spending the past three seasons at Pittsburgh. He had quite the productive season with the Panthers this past year.

He averaged 14.4 ppg and 5.9 rpg, both career-highs, along with 2.3 apg and 1.3 spg. He gives the Razorbacks nice length at the 2-guard spot at 6-foot-6 and has shown he’s capable of shooting on the perimeter after shooting a career-high 34 percent from the perimeter this past year.

Though Toney can shoot the ball, he’s an aggressive player that likes to get to the paint and make plays at the rim. Look for him to give the Razorbacks an energy guy in the starting lineup.

J.D. Notae returns off-guard slot, though despite his height at 6-foot-1, has proven he can hold his own for Arkansas basketball. He put up 12.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.9 apg, and 1.4 spg in 2020-21 in 32 appearances, just one start this past season.

While it’s not a foregone conclusion he’ll play the off-guard slot, he was SEC basketball’s Sixth Man of the Year in 2020-21, while shooting 33.5 percent from 3-point range and making 1.8 3-pointers per contest.

He holds a nice role as a speedy guy to have alongside Chris Lykes if needed down the road. Look for him to play big minutes again in 2021-22.

Chance Moore, a freshman out of Georgia, produced 19.0 ppg and 9.0 rpg at McEachern High in 2002-21. He’ll be looked upon to lighten the load at the shooting guard spot.
