George Mason Basketball: Analyzing Patriots 2021 incoming recruiting class
6. T.J. Gadsden
T.J. Gadsden is another in-state recruiting joining the Patriots ranks in 2021-22. He chose George Mason basketball over Mount St. Mary’s and Towson, not traveling too far from his high school campus that he recently graduated from.
He was another prospect whose high school squad was unable to play in 2020-21 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal (VA). As a junior, he averaged 11 points and seven rebounds per game as his squad won their first Mid-Atlantic Conference crown since 2015.
Gadsden is a versatile guard/forward that’s got a strong frame and nice length at 6-foot-7 that can allow him to play inside and out. He’ll be a darkhorse recruit to keep an eye on set to make his mark in the rotation.
5. Blake Jones
Blake Jones is an international prospect with some promise in the paint and on the perimeter that joins George Mason basketball’s roster. He’s an Australian native out of the NBA Global Academy. Back in July 2019, his squad won the NBA Academy Games as he showed off his ability to rebound in bunches, score inside and out and make plays for others.
He made an appearance in the NBL with Brisbane this past season, though he averaged just 1.1 ppg across seven appearances. The 6-foot-10 forward/wing has an opportunity to make quite the impact in the George Mason basketball frontcourt.
