3. For 1 game in a winner-take-all scenario, which big man from the Big Ten are you taking?

Kay

Purdue’s Trevion William.

William as a senior will look to take his game to the next level and possibly compete for the Big Ten player of the year award. In a one-game winner take all, Williams who averaged just under 16 points a game last season to go along with his nine rebounds, and just over two assists per game, would be the big man that most would take in that scenario. He does a little of everything and if you need a big man to win you a game, he is a great option.

I’m sure Illinois fans will crush me for this but I am taking Hunter Dickinson.  He is extremely skilled, a load underneath, and is the focal point of the offense.  To take this a step further he is darn near impossible to keep off the glass.  He will have a better season than Kofi.

Hunter Dickinson and it isn’t close.  For all the prestige this group of big men is getting, a lot of the names on the list are limited in ways that get dicey in a win-or-go-home setting.  I can’t shake Kofi Cockburn getting punked by Cameron Krutwig from my memory, nor EJ Liddell and the entire Ohio State defense struggling to contain Kevin Obanor and Max Abmas.  Dickinson provides the most complete package of the choice – he has the highest floor both offensively and defensively, he’s a gamer who doesn’t shy away from the moment, and his best basketball is still to come this season.

Once again, the Big Ten has an embarrassment of riches in the big man department. In a one-game winner-take-all scenario, I’d want Kofi Cockburn on my team. You won’t find a more physically imposing center in the country who can wreck any game with both his offense and defense.
