Game of the day: The game to watch over the course of Wednesday and Thursday is that of Creighton and Kennesaw State. Greg McDermott’s sweet sixteen showing last year is well and gone, with all five starters not returning to Creighton. They have more to replace than quite possibly anyone in the nation, but they answered with the highest recruiting class in school history.

Per 247 Sports, Creighton had the 7th-highest recruiting class in the nation, and it’ll be put to the test early. With Shereef Mitchell out, the Jays will rely on freshman Ryan Nembhard to man the point. Northwest Missouri State transfer Ryan Hawkins can score in bunches and is another guy to keep eye on.

Kennesaw State will look to utilize graduate student Spencer Rodgers (16.3 ppg) quite a bit against a less experienced Creighton team. Third-year coach Amir Abdur-Rahim is slowly making progress in the ASUN and it would not be all that crazy to predict them to continue that this year. Last year, Creighton handled the Owls a 93-57 loss in Omaha.
