How Oregon was able to beat UCLA

Defensively, Oregon was able to limit UCLA to 40 percent shooting from the floor. The Bruins struggled from three in this matchup. UCLA ended up shooting an unsatisfactory 28 percent from three. UCLA’s shooting from three in this game was uncharacteristic, as they shot 38 percent from three on the year before tonight’s game.

The bruins also had foul trouble in this game, as Cody Riley and Tyger Campbell fouled out in the game against the Ducks. Oregon’s Eric Williams Jr fouled out as well. Williams Jr was one of the negative spots for the Ducks in this game. The senior had 10 points on a very bad 18 percent from the floor. Additionally, Williams Jr fouled out of the game. Overall the ducks had 12 points off the bench.

One player that had a huge impact on Oregon’s victory was Jacob Young. Young scored way higher than his career averages in this match-up. Jacob Young came up with 23 points for the ducks in this matchup.  Young shot 61 percent from the floor. On the season, the senior has averaged 10 points per game on 41 percent shooting. Young ended up with the go-ahead bucket in this victory. Along with young, the rest of the starting lineup definitely made their impact offensively for Oregon.
