9. Chauncey Hawkins, St. Francis NY – BRYANT

Info: 5-8, 165 lbs., PG, Sr.

2020-21 stats: 16.0 PTS, 4.4 AST, 37.5 3P%

Hawkins was First Team All-NEC in 2020-21, averaging 16.0 points and 4.4 assists for a St. Francis NY. He shot 37.5% from three last season and ranked third in the conference in assist rate.

His transfer will keep him in the NEC, using his final year of eligibility at Bryant in 2022-23. He will join a program that finished second in the league last season and was picked to finish second again this year. A quality grad transfer at point guard could be the addition that helps Head Coach Jared Grasso and Bryant make its first NCAA Tournament.

8. Wayne Bristol Jr., Howard – GEORGETOWN

Info: 6-6, 186 lbs., SG, Jr.

2019-20 stats: 12.5 PTS, 4.3 REB, 40.0 3P%

Bristol averaged 12.5 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 1.8 APG in 2019-20, earning him MEAC Freshman of the Year honors. He shot 43.1% from 3-point range in conference play and also ranked in the top 25 of the MEAC in assist rate, showing potential as a playmaking guard. He did not play in 2020-21 due to a pre-season injury as well as the fact that Howard played only five games and shut down its season in December.

7. Sardaar Calhoun, Texas Tech

Info: 6-6, 210 lbs., SG, Sr.

2020-21 stats: 3.5 PTS, 8.0 MIN, 8 GP

Calhoun averaged 5.3 points in 13.9 minutes in 2020-21 for Florida State but decided to transfer to Texas Tech this offseason. He averaged 8.0 minutes and appeared in only eight games, sparking another transfer.

While Calhoun does have a full year of eligibility remaining, he will need the NCAA’s clearance on a waiver to be immediately eligible at his next school. Whether he is cleared to play immediately or not, Calhoun is a talented player who will bring tons of value to whichever team he decides to finish out his collegiate career with.
