Bracketology 2022: Oregon, Marquette, and Auburn among latest winners

Florida State
In Coach K’s final season at Duke, the rest of the ACC seems to be honoring his legacy by completely falling apart, as the general depth of one of the nation’s best basketball conferences just isn’t there this season. It’s very possible that the conference gets only 2 or 3 teams into the NCAA Tournament, though Florida State is hoping to be among that diminished group. They have plenty of work ahead, but their work this past week certainly pushed the needle in a good direction.
Florida State picked up a couple of solid wins this week, both that will certainly help their perception at the very least. On Tuesday, they got a nice 65-64 win over Miami, handing the Hurricanes a tough loss just a few days after they had upset the Blue Devils. Over the weekend, it wasn’t just another win for the Seminoles, as they served revenge on Syracuse, upending the Orange 76-71 on the road, with 19 points from Caleb Mills in a great all-around effort.
This is just the beginning for Florida State, who has actually been one of the best programs in the ACC in recent years. The Seminoles still sit just 70th in the most recent NET rankings, and would clearly need to keep winning to get back into that NCAA Tournament conversation. If you’re looking for a chance for Florida State to prove themselves, consider that they host Duke this week; a good performance there could push the Seminoles back on the right side of the bubble.
