Keep Remy Martin Hot

Coming into the season, Remy Martin was widely considered to be one of the most impactful transfers of the offseason. Following back-to-back 19+ PPG campaigns at Arizona State, many considered him the missing piece that could propel Kansas to a national championship. Much of this season has been a struggle for Martin, however.

After spending stretches of the season both injured and in Bill Self’s doghouse, he’s only tallied 8.1 PPG and 2.6 APG while averaging only 20.8 MPG. While this is disappointing, Martin has turned it on as of late and is finally looking like the Arizona State Remy Martin.

Martin has scored in double figures in each of his last four games dating back to the Big 12 Tournament semifinal against TCU. In Kansas’s win over Creighton, Martin came up huge scoring twenty points while adding seven boards and four assists.

A healthy, confident Martin at point guard adds a whole new dimension to Kansas’s offense. It appears that he has finally gained the trust of Coach Self and his teammates, and it looks like he has regained his confidence. If Kansas is to get past Providence and make a memorable run in the tournament, Remy Martin could just be the engine that keeps them moving on.
