4. Ohio State Buckeyes

After losing freshman guard Malaki Branham to the NBA Draft, the Buckeyes will be looking for a potential option to replace him at shooting guard. And they have a couple of top-40 freshmen guards in Roddy Gayle and Bruce Thornton that could get sizeable roles early on. There’s also the recent pickup of 6’6 wing Tanner Holden from Wright State, a 20 ppg scorer who’ll be part of the rotation next season.

With Justice Sueing also set to return, Ohio State will have a number of capable double-digit scorers on next season’s roster. And I would argue that they would prefer a shooter to join them than a pure scorer so how Couisnard fits would be a question. He could start or find his way out of the rotation like Cedric Russell had to deal with this past season.

3. Gonzaga Bulldogs

Gonzaga has a history of taking transfers and them fitting well in and Couisnard wouldn’t be much different, with his ability to create his own shot. It’s unknown how sophomore guards Nolan Hickman and Hunter Sallis will do with larger roles so adding a veteran makes sense for next year’s roster.

The hope for Couisnard is that his shooting percentages would improve and the Bulldogs have a track record of turning “poor” shooters into elite ones, with Ryan Woolridge and Rasir Bolton being the most recent examples. If that were to happen to the former Gamecock, that would be a game-changer for the WCC program if they were to land him.
