70. Isaiah Thompson – Junior

Thompson was a guy who got every opportunity for Purdue to carve out a role, but he could not get it done and it led to decreased playing time and his eventual transfer. In his defense, it is hard to get minutes at Purdue because they have a ton of talent overall and Thompson is the type of guy who is going to score when given the minutes and the opportunity.

He is a great three-point shooter and great free throw shooter; he doesn’t turn the ball over and is smart and runs good offense. He will be a great asset to a team that needs him and will likely average double-digit points per game.

69. Tyree Appleby – Senior

The senior point guard will now be headed to his third school after he decided to spend his last year with a different program. Appleby has been a productive starter for both schools he has attended he was the best player on a bad Cleveland State team for two years before he took his talents to Florida and was part of the Mike White led Florida Gators.

Now that the Gators have a new coach in Todd Golden and Appleby decided to transfer. His numbers went down across the board when he went to the power five route. The guard is quick can get to his spot, takes most of his shot attempts from three, where he makes 36% of them, and many would like to see him put the ball on the floor to get fouled and go to line where he is deadly.

68. Dre Davis – Sophomore

Davis never fit in completely with Louisville and has decided to enter the transfer portal. His move to enter the portal was expected since he fell out of favor with the coaching staff towards the end of the year. The weird thing about Davis is that it appears we may know the type of player he is considering he has two identical seasons. Davis is not a good shooter at all he must put the ball on the floor to be successful and he has a wide array of post moves to score.

He is a great athlete and with the right system and right coaching he should have a chance to drastically improve. He doesn’t have great shooting percentages from inside the arc either. Davis will get some looks and may still play power 5.

67. Dae Dae Grant – Junior

Grant is a transfer from Miami Ohio, and he is one of the best scorers and point guards in the portal. The junior point guard is a great passer and he rarely turns the ball over. He has averaged less than 2 turnovers per game his entire career in the MAC and when you couple that with his 3 assists per game average you have a guy with a 2 to 1 turnover to turnover ratio which many coaches will want especially from their lead guard.

The offensive end is where Grant changes a game. He is a volume shooter averaging just a shade under 15 shots per game. However, he shoots over 40% from the floor, 36% from three, and 80% from the line for his career. Those are eye-popping numbers that will allow the offers to roll in for Grant.

66. Tristen Newton – Sophomore (Committed to UConn)

Newton is another point guard, and like the previous point guards before him he can take over a game on the offensive end. Newton plays at a high level and is a great passer as he averaged 5 assists per game this season. East Carolina, which is his former program, is not a great program and this is the second year in a row they have had their best player transfer out of the program.

Newton isn’t a great shooter from deep, but he is great at driving to the rim and getting fouled he took over 170 free throws this year and shot 88% from the line. Newton does turn the ball over a lot, but he plays fast and worry-free, so it comes with the territory. Newton is a good player and will succeed where he plays next year.

65. Sean McNeil – Senior

The senior guard leaves West Virginia and enters the portal as arguably one of the best shooters in the portal. The guard has seen his offensive game take off over the last two years as he is much more than just a shooter but outside of the offensive stats, McNeil isn’t going to provide much.

He shoots 37% from deep over his career and never turns the ball over so he isn’t going to hurt on offense when he isn’t shooting the ball. He is another guy who can get streaky and carry a team for a stretch of time, especially from deep. McNeil will be a nice depth option for shooting for a contending team.

64. Brandon Huntley-Hatfield – Freshman

The former 5-star top 30 recruit couldn’t find the floor at Tennessee. His transfer comes as a bit of a surprise because there was a path to increased playing time this year. The big man was a former five-star and is athletic, tall, and talented. Those things along with his former recruiting ranking is going to find him a spot at a power school and will have a clear path to a starting role.

He is likely going to need a year of playing time to get his feet wet. There were times when the game moved fast for him, but he was able to work through it with his talent. There is not a clear list of who the big man has as suitors yet because he is the most recent entrant to the transfer portal but prepare for it to be expansive.

63. Noah Locke – Senior (Committed to Providence)

This will be the third school for Locke. He started out at Florida and then transferred to Louisville. He did not have a great season at Louisville and given the mess that the Cardinals were last year it makes sense. Locke is a great shooter, as last year was the only season, he didn’t shoot 40% or better from deep.

Expect a huge bounce-back season from Locke where he ends up. He is too good of a shooter to have too many bad seasons. The off guard will likely be a player who comes off the bench and will be able to use his experience and shooting to bring a quality depth piece and bench scoring.

62. Frank Anselem – Sophomore

Looking at the Anselem’s numbers when he played for Syracuse can be deceiving. The sophomore big man didn’t play much at his time for Orange and when he did play, he was not given much of a chance to show off his offensive game as he took less than 2 shots per game and played less than 15 minutes a night.

The 6’10” big man has great moves in the post, he is a fantastic finisher around the rim, and he always has good positioning on rebounds. Anselem had a ton of power five offers out of high school, was a high-ranked recruit and nothing suggests he cannot succeed at that level.

61. Dexter Dennis – Junior

The junior guard was one of the main holdovers from the Gregg Marshall days at Wichita State. He was on the teams that won a lot of games for the Shockers. Dennis doesn’t do anything great, but he does do a lot well. He plays hard, can make a three, and is a great offensive rebounder. The guard is also a smart basketball player and with his athleticism can make plays that a lot of other guys cannot.

He isn’t the most efficient player in the portal, but he makes the plays to stay on the floor. Dennis has been given starters minutes every single year he has been in college and he likely will again at his new school he just does too much while on the floor to not start him.
