Jermaine Cousinard – South Carolina

The athletic upside of the former USC Gamecock shooting guard is undeniable. The tail end of the 2021-22 season saw South Carolina make a furious run for the big dance and Cousinard was at the center of that effort.

The offensive stats may not be at the same level compared to Antoine Davis or Jahmir Young, but Cousinard has the same ability to take over a game when he’s on and engaged. Ohio State looks to be the main competition to Maryland for his services, with Cousinard recently visiting Columbus:

Though Cousinard looks like more of a lean for the Buckeyes, the terrapins remain firmly in the mix for his commitment. The well-rounded nature of his floor game would be a solid addition to Willard’s new-look roster. Check out Busting Bracket’s earlier take on Cousinard’s transfer options here.

Kevin Willard and his staff have a number of roster holes to fill before winter hits, but landing any of this trio of guards would be a great start. The deadline for entering the portal is coming on May 1st, so there are bound to be new names on the radar for terrapin fans to covet and scrutinize.

Can the terrapins finish another crazy portal transfer off-season on solid footing? I wouldn’t bet on Kevin Willard and company not meeting the challenge.
