Minnesota Golden Gophers

Biggest needs: SG

The Gophers lost a bunch of seniors this offseason, leaving mainly Jamison Battle as the key returning starter. But the team has landed a couple of transfers so far in UNC big man Dawson Garcia and guards, Ta’lon Cooper and Taurus Samuels. The team is hoping to have as successful a transfer haul in the backcourt as they did before because otherwise, they’ll be stuck in the basement of the Big Ten.

Minnesota could use a few more pieces in several different positions but a legit three-point shooting guard/wing is most important based on what they currently have. But again, this roster could get from any position and it’ll be an upgrade for them.

Nebraska Cornhuskers

Biggest needs: SG/SF

With Trey McGowens coming back and Alabama transfer Juwan Gary adding to the frontcourt, the wing position currently takes most precedent. And basically whoever can play off of North Dakota State transfer Sam Griesel, who is a solid scorer and shooter on the team.

The Cornhuskers have a roster that has some potential to climb up the ladder but also doesn’t have many high-ceiling pieces. There’s some depth but not much starpower. If they can add one more perimeter scorer to replace Bryce McGowens, they may have some hope to get some league wins.
