Louisville Cardinals – PG/SG

It’s been a fair amount of roster turnover for the Cardinals for first-year head coach Kenny Payne but the frontcourt and wing position is in good shape. Center Sydney Curry returns, along with Roosevelt Wheeler and Tennessee transfer Brandon Huntley-Hatfield to provide a lot of frontcourt depth, while incoming freshmen, Kamari Lands and Devin Ree are top-100 caliber wings.

It’s the backcourt where Louisville needs to add, as point guard El Ellis is the only true guard on the roster. Even if they land Memphis transfer Emoni Bates, the team will have to add not only another true ball-handler but also a shooting guard to help provide some spacing for next season.

Miami Hurricanes – F/C

Miami solved its point guard issue without Charlie Moore, landing Kansas State transfer Nigel Pack. And with Isaiah Wong and incoming four-star combo forward AJ Casey also on board, the roster is fairly set on the perimeter. The only area where there’s a question is in the frontcourt, depending on the position Norchad Omier plays at the ACC level.

The Sun Belt Player of the Year and incoming transfer averaged over 10 rpg but is also a 6’7 big man that doesn’t spread the floor. Miami could use another big man in the rotation alongside Omier next season that’s also versatile position-wise.
