Key Losses

The Jayhawks will have to replace a notable amount of production from a year ago, a group that includes many of their top scorers and two first round draft picks. Here are some of the biggest names whom Kansas will have to replace this season.

Ochai Agbaji

Agbaji, a four-year starter with the Jayhawks, is the most notable loss from a year ago, coming off a season in which he averaged a combined 18.8 PPG and 5.1 RPG on 47.5%/40.7%/74.3% shooting. Leading the Big 12 in scoring last season, Agbaji was also a consensus First Team All-American, along with receiving other honors that included Big 12 Player of the Year, First Team All-Big 12, NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, Naismith & Wooden Award finalist, and more.

Christian Braun

A two-year starter in Lawrence, Braun ranked second for the Jayhawks in scoring a year ago by averaging 14.1 PPG, 6.5 RPG, and 2.8 APG on 49.5%/38.6%/73.3% shooting. Braun was a constant presence on the court for Kansas Basketball a year ago by leading the Big 12 in minutes played (1,374), while also receiving Second Team All-Big 12 honors.

David McCormack

Similar to Agbaji, McCormack has also started in a notable amount of games across the past four seasons, as well as being a full-time starter over the last two. Holding a career 8.7 PPG and 5.2 RPG mark, McCormack averaged 10.6 PPG and 7 RPG (No. 3 in Big 12) on 50.8% shooting from the field to earn Third Team All-Big 12 honors a season ago.

Remy Martin

Martin played a key role in the Jayhawks backcourt a year ago after transferring from Arizona State, starting in 13-of-30 games. Across that span, Martin averaged 8.6 PPG, 3 RPG, and 2.5 APG on 46.2% shooting from the field.

Mitch Lightfoot & Jalen Coleman-Lands

Lastly, Kansas Basketball also will have to replace two notable names off their bench from a year ago in Lightfoot and Coleman-Lands, both of which were seniors. Lightfoot averaged 4.6 PPG and 2.8 RPG a year ago across 12.2 MPG, while Coleman-Lands averaged 3.7 PPG across 8.2 MPG after transferring from Iowa State the year prior.
