Key Reserves

Forward – AJ Casey (Freshman)

A four-star prospect from Chicago, Casey is the Hurricanes’ top-rated freshman and he’ll certainly have a chance to get into this lineup. He’s an athletic frontcourt piece who brings size and potential to the Hurricanes, while also having the ability to shoot from long range. We’ll have to see how the Hurricanes utilize him and how he develops into the college game.

Guard – Christian Watson (Freshman)

A three-star wing from Washington DC, Watson looks like a potential steal for Miami. He’s decently sized at 6’6 and can both put up points and distribute the basketball, with his court vision looking quite impressive at the high school level.

Guard – Bensley Joseph (Sophomore)

Joseph was a reserve last season but could carve a bigger role on the bench this year for the Hurricanes, especially with those aforementioned departures. His shooting numbers weren’t exactly off the charts last season in limited opportunities, but he’s a very solid defender and could find himself making starts or playing important minutes as a result.

Guard – Harlond Beverly (Junior)

A former Top 60 recruit, Beverly played in just four games last season before a back injury ended his season prematurely. He averaged around 7 points a game in his first two years in Miami and could play an important role if he can fully bounce back from that injury and regain his form.

Center – Favour Aire (Freshman)

Aire is a 6’11 big man from Nigeria who is long and has the potential to turn into an elite shot blocker. He’s thin for his height and will have to continue working on his strength, but he rates as an above-average defender and rebounders and could work into a major role for the Hurricanes down the line.

Guard – Jakai Robinson (Freshman)

After sitting out last season as a redshirt, Robinson is hoping to get involved with the Hurricanes this year. He was a four-star recruit who can fill all kinds of roles for the Hurricanes, able to play both guard positions as well as the 3. We’ll see what role he fills for Larranaga.

Forward – Danilo Jovanovich (Freshman)

This small forward from Greenfield was one of the top prospects from Wisconsin in this year’s freshman class. Jovanovich is 6’8 and looks capable of transitioning to the college game on the defensive side, but has work to do in developing as an offensive piece.

Guard – Wooga Poplar (Sophomore)

Poplar was one of the Hurricanes’ bench pieces last season. He’s got decent size for a guard at 6’5, but has to do a better job at taking care of the basketball. He’s potentially in line for more minutes this season, hoping to take that sophomore step forward after averaging just 2.3 points a game last year.
