24. Jayden Taylor – Butler Bulldogs
2021-22 stats: 8.2 ppg and 2.9 rpg
The 6’4 scoring guard started the first 18 games last season before becoming the 6th Man off the bench. Taylor was a player that had a high ceiling but low floor in terms of scoring outputs. He had five games of at least 18 points, including 18 versus Xavier in Big East play. However, Taylor also produced five or fewer points in 14 games, including in each of the final six games.
With Aaron Thompson, Bo Hodges, and Jair Bolden all gone, look for both Taylor and leading scorer Chuck Harris to take most of the scoring load. And with an improved frontcourt (Manny Bates and Ali Ali), there should be more space to operate on the perimeter for all of the Butler guards.
23. Adam Miller – LSU Tigers
2020-21 stats (at Illinois): 8.3 ppg and 2.8 rpg
After transferring over from Illinois over a year ago, Miller missed all of last season with an injury. Now, he’s playing for his third head coach in three years, with Matt McMahon replacing Will Wade. A complete roster turnover occurred, with Miller being one of the only holdovers.
This current roster may suit him better in terms of opportunity. There are several newcomers to the backcourt but outside of Cam Hayes, the rest come from mid-major schools and could struggle at the SEC level. Miller has already proven that he’s a power conference performer and could easily be the lead guard for LSU this season.
