Clemson Tigers

After losing all three starting guards from last season, the Tigers have a lot of questions about its backcourt. They added just Boston College transfer Brevin Galloway and are hoping for breakout campaigns from Chase Hunter and Alex Hemenway. If freshman guard Dillon Hunter isn’t ready for big minutes, the team could be in trouble when it comes to ball-handlers.

With star forward PJ Hall out until at least the start of ACC play, Clemson could be in some real trouble when it comes to offense. Perez would not only solve that issue but also be another ball-handler in the rotation. Head coach Brad Brownell could be on the hot seat if things go sour so potentially adding a capable scorer could be a game-changer for him.

Iona Gaels

Perez is considered to be the best player in the MAAC for this upcoming season. So maybe he should stay there? There’s one program that’s somewhat on the national radar in the conference in Iona, which under head coach Rick Pitino has been at the top of the MAAC. But their backcourt may have taken a step back compared to last year’s duo of Tyson Jolly and Elijah Joiner, with Walter Clayton Jr. and Daniss Jenkins projected to start this season.

Adding Perez would make the Gaels prohibitive favorites again and would allow the player to exact some revenge on Manhattan when they play them twice in league play. He could go to the power conference level and be a role player or stay mid-major and star on a team that would be a heavy favorite to win its league like Iona.
