South Carolina Gamecocks

The SEC program is rebuilding with new head coach Lamont Paris but that process got quickly accelerated once five-star forward GG Jackson reclassified to play this season. Unfortunately, South Carolina suffered a serious blow to its backcourt with the season-ending injury to Coastal Carolina transfer Ebrima Dibba, who was supposed to be their starting point guard.

The Gamecocks are now in big need of a guard that can score and pass to pair with Meechie Johnson in the backcourt. Perez would be a solid fit and play some big minutes for them and add to the talent level of South Carolina before the start of SEC play.

Washington State Cougars

The Cougars lost its entire backcourt this offseason and replaced them with Saint Mary’s transfer Jabe Mullins and Justin Powell from Tennessee. Both have shown potential but are a bit unproven in long minutes on the court. Perez may not start but add to the depth as a combo guard and make them more competitive in the Pac-12.

Washington State was looking for another guard late in the offseason but didn’t land anyone. Perez would be a nice pickup and his scoring ability helps out the team’s ceiling this season. Whether the New York native would want to move out west in his final season is another question.
