Bracketology 2023: Creighton, West Virginia and Baylor among week’s big winners

Baylor
National champions just two seasons ago, Baylor has maintained their standing as one of the top programs in the nation, even if it didn’t look that way earlier in the season. The Bears had a few struggles, including a three-game losing streak to begin Big 12 play, dropping a pair of games at home in Waco. However, this week only solidified things, continuing a winning streak that has now hit six games.
Prior to this week, the win streak had come against the bottom four teams in the Big 12, including three road wins, but Baylor quelled any questions with a 75-69 home win against #9 Kansas back on Monday, getting 22 points from LJ Cryer in the win. Over the weekend, the Bears got another strong win over a future Tourney team, knocking off Arkansas 67-64 as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge, led by a 24-point effort from freshman stud Keyonte George.
For Baylor, this six-game winning streak came at the perfect time. Beating Kansas gives them another elite victory on a resume getting littered with Quad 1 opportunities and victories. If you look back a few weeks, you’ll see that the Bears are moving up the seedlines, and could find themselves getting a 2 or 3 seed based on how things have gone much of this month. Baylor is clearly not a bubble team, but could they parlay this recent success into another top seed?
