25. College of Charleston Cougars- 21-2 (9-1 CAA)

The Cougars entered this week with the nation’s longest-winning steak and were coming off a pair of blowout road wins over Monmouth and Northeastern. They’ve been dominant in the Colonial Athletic Association but there are a few teams that can pose an issue on the right night. One of them is Hofstra, who entered Saturday’s matchup at 7-2 in league play.

For those that were able to watch, this was a highly entertaining matchup, with both offenses playing at a high level. It was close throughout but in the end, Aaron Estrada and the Pride pulled off the 85-81 upset. Hofstra’s star guard ended up with a game-high 25 points and six assists.

For College of Charleston, Ante Brzovic led the way with 18 points and eight rebounds. Ryan Larson had 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists in the game as well. It’s a bad loss from a Bracketology standpoint but from a national level, this shouldn’t drop them out of the top 25 rankings. Hofstra is a good team with very good guards and the Cougars weren’t going to win every game in league play.

That being said, they shouldn’t lose too many more if they want to avoid needing the CAA Tournament to make the Big Dance. They have two games coming up but they’re both on the road, with Drexel and Delaware up next.
