13. Notre Dame Fighting Irish – 10-13 (2-10)

The Irish ended a four-game losing skid in the ACC with a win over Louisville, guaranteeing them that they would’ve been at the bottom of the standings. They were off for a full week, before taking on Wake Forest at home.

For two high-scoring offenses, the first half went unexpected, with the halftime score being 27-26. It was one of the better 20 minutes of defense for the Irish but unfortunately, that went away in the second half. The Demon Deacons ended up scoring 54 points in the final 20 minutes to run away with the 81-64 win.

Forward Nate Laszewski had 18 points and seven rebounds to lead Notre Dame, while Cormac Ryan and Marcus Hammond also were in double figures. As a team, they shot just 38% from the field and 4/21 from three-point range, which isn’t going to cut it against Wake Forest.

The Irish have wins over Georgia Tech and Louisville but no one else in ACC play. They travel to play at the Yellow Jackets this week in hopes of a third victory, before taking on Virginia Tech at home on the weekend. Just eight regular-season games of the Mike Brey era at Notre Dame.
