11. Florida State Seminoles – 8-16 (6-7)

The Seminoles are such an interesting team because with freshman Baba Miller in the fold, looked to be the ultimate kind of spoiler for bubble teams. They already beat Pittsburgh on the road and nearly did the same to Clemson. FSU had a chance to do it again versus NC State but instead, an embarrassing beatdown occurred.

It was a blowout from the opening minutes, with the Wolfpack getting a quick double-digit lead that grew to a 49-27 halftime deficit for the Seminoles. They would’ve given up 100 had the Wolfpack not let its foot off the gas but the final score was a 94-66 loss for Florida State. Forward Cameron Corhen had 16 points to lead the way but it was never close.

They had a chance to turn around to take on Louisville at their place and took advantage early on, scoring 45 points in the first half alone. But despite being up by 20 points at one point, the Seminoles nearly suffered an all-time collapse to the Cardinals at the end. The good news is that they were able to hold on for the 81-78 victory, with all five starters scoring in double figures. Matthew Cleveland’s numbers stood out most, producing 15 points and 10 rebounds.

FSU is at home this week to take on Syracuse and Pittsburgh. The Panthers game is an opportunity for a season sweep after the Seminoles won at their place a couple of weeks ago.
