Where does Caitlin Clark rank in the best Women’s Basketball Players of all time?

The Iowa Hawkeyes have one of the best college basketball players ever. Read that again, she is one of the best college basketball players of all time. She may be the best women’s player of all time, but she has put up better numbers and has had a better career than most men as well. She is doing this without any casual fan actually sitting down and watching one of her games. The junior guard is able to go for 40 every night and is a triple-double waiting to happen.

Clark is so much different from every other player as well because she never seems to have an off night. The junior guard is averaging 28 points per game and is one of the best rebounders and passers in the game. She makes Iowa women’s hoops what they are currently. Just to further drive home the point that she is one of the best players of all time for both Men and Women is what she did a little over a week ago. In a win over Maryland, the guard scored 42 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 8 assists. She is the only player either man or woman over the last 20 years to score that many points with the assists and rebounds to do that in a single game. She also shot over 60% from the floor and 90% from the line in that game.

As I mentioned earlier about Clark being a walking triple-double. She has nine career triple-doubles which ties her for second with Chastadie Barrs from Lamar for second all-time. The great debate is always going to continue about who the greatest women’s player is whether it is Clark or former Oregon star Sabrina Ionescu who is the leader with 27 triple-doubles. That record will be tough to break. Clark does have some others, she is the likely Big Ten player of the year and is the fastest player ever to reach 2,000 points in their college career.

She still is a ways from the record Kelsey Plum set as the highest scorer ever but aside from the points the junior guard just may be the best women’s player of all time. If you have a chance to watch the Iowa Women play this year, please don’t pass it up. Clark and her partner in crime Monika Czinano are must-see TV.
