8. Alissa Pili – Utah Utes

2022-23 stats: 20.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 2.1 apg

The Utes are one of the top-scoring teams in the country, led by the USC transfer. Pili leads the team in scoring and rebounding, all while playing just 27 mpg. She’s one of the most efficient players when on the court, including seven straight games in Pac-12 play with at least 20 points. One of them includes a 30-point effort (with 7 rebs and 6 asts) in a road win over Oregon.

Even against Stanford and one of the best defensive frontcourts in the country, Pili managed to go for 25 points and eight rebounds on 8/18 shooting. As the second-best team in the Pac-12 and a projected 2/3 seed, Pili has made a strong case for Conference Player of the Year and if she was playing more, might have the numbers to really make a run at NPOY.

7. Cameron Brink – Stanford Cardinal

2022-23 stats: 14.8 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 3.5 bpg

Brink won a national championship as a freshman and has seen her game develop slowly all-around, now leading the team in both points and scoring. The junior also is second in blocks per game, including a career-high 10 in a triple-double effort against Oregon. She also has 21 straight games in double figures and averaged 16.3 ppg and 16.4 rpg in a three-game stretch of key wins over Tennessee, Gonzaga, and Creighton.

In a year with plenty of elite scorers, Brink doesn’t have the raw offensive numbers to make a case for National Player of the Year. But she’s certainly in the top-3 in Defensive Player of the Year and her overall impact is why the Cardinal is right in the mix for another Final Four appearance.
