Seton Hall Pirates

The Pirates finished one game over .500 in Coach Shaheen Holloway’s first season, mainly due to a lack of team offense. No one scored more than 13 ppg on the season and 2 of the team’s top 3 scorers (Al-Amir Dawes and Tyrese Samuel) may or may not take a 5th year. Regardless, the team is in major need of an offensive boost and someone like Bamba could easily fill that need.

He’d also be a good fit with guard Kadary Richmond, who isn’t much of a scorer in his own right. Seton Hall needs a go-to scorer this offseason from the backcourt and Bamba, if he wants to come back close to home in the Big East, is a viable option.

St. John’s Red Storm

Even before the coaching change, St. John’s would’ve been a likely landing spot for Bamba since they’re the hometown option. With Rick Pitino now the head coach of the program, they’ve become even more viable. It’s caused a shuffle of the roster, with guards such as AJ Storr and Posh Alexander already transferring out.

The only thing that could stop Bamba from coming over is if over guards join the Red Storm first, including former Iona guards, Walter Clayton and Daniss Jenkins. Expect other guards to be interested in the team so it certainly won’t be a done deal between these sides. But from a mutual interest standpoint, St. John’s will be in the mix.
