North Carolina Tar Heels

The Tar Heels were historically bad this past season when it came to expectations. After being the preseason No. 1 team in NCAA Basketball, they missed out on the NCAA Tournament. Changes have been made already this offseason, with several bench players and Caleb Love transferred out.

One player that is back is star center, Armando Bacot. His return should’ve taken UNC out of any consideration. However, with Pete Nance gone, the four-spot is wide open in the frontcourt, and as mentioned before, Dickinson does have the ability to spread the floor. And there’s a connection between the two star big men in the past as well.

Playing two big men has its pros and cons and that would be the same at North Carolina. Bacot and Dickinson are at best, average defenders and smaller teams can expose them defensively. And without Leaky Black around, the Tar Heels can 100% be a poor defensive unit.

However, they could also be an elite offensive team as well. Bacot is already one of the best rebounders in NCAA Basketball and Dickinson can grab plenty as well. And after struggling last season to find easy offense, having these two post players can create opportunities for everyone. After how bad this past season was, why not swing for the fences?
