6. DePaul Blue Demons

The Blue Demons are losing a lot of guards this offseason, primarily leading scorer, Umoja Gibson. He was the only consistent performer on the team and with him gone, there’s plenty of room available for someone like Jones. He and a healthy Caleb Murphy would be a solid backcourt duo at DePaul.

The problem is that the Demons could be looking at last place in the Big East. The conference has already made some big moves this offseason, with Georgetown and St. John’s making big hires. This is a roster that even with Jones, would be struggling to win games, which is a stark difference from the rest of the options.

5. Oklahoma Sooners

Although they aren’t on the same level as DePaul when it comes to being in dire straights, the Sooners do have some roster-building of their own. Leading scorer Grant Sherfield has graduated and moved on, while Joe Bamisile has transferred out. That leaves freshman Milos Uzan and incoming top-40 shooting guard, Kaden Cooper.

The Big 12 has gotten even better, with four programs joining this offseason. So the competition will be tougher for a team whose best-returning player is Uzan and nothing else. That’s currently a hard sell for Jones, who could have a lot of minutes but not win a lot of games.
