6. Damian Dunn – Temple to Houston
2022-23 season stats: 15.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 3.0 apg
The 6’5 guard has been one of the more explosive scorers in NCAA Basketball in the past three years, with a number of 30+ point games. This season alone, Dunn dropped 38 points in overtime against Vanderbilt, along with 34 in overtime versus Cincinnati. The junior guard also is a 36% three-point shooter and can get to the free throw line a ton, including a perfect 18/18 performance in the season-opener against Wagner.
Dunn would be the ideal replacement for Sasser as a lead guard candidate and joins fellow transfer, LJ Cryer in the backcourt. Assuming that Jamal Shead is back to run the offense, the former Owl will be surrounded by both quality talent and a coaching staff as he and the team move to the Big 12.
5. Josh Cohen – St Francis (PA) to UMass
2022-23 season stats: 21.8 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 2.5 apg
Cohen was a Co-NEC Player of the Year for the Red Flash and ranked 10th nationally in scoring overall. He was in double figures in every single game, including a pair of 40-point efforts against both Lehigh and Hawaii. The 6’10 forward shot 59% from the field and averaged eight free throw attempts a game as someone who needed constant double-teams.
UMass has lost a lot of talent so far this offseason but instantly brings in a top-10 player to the Atlantic 10. He and Matt Cross become one of the top frontcourts in the league and Coach Frank Martin hasn’t had the kind of frontcourt talent before like Cohen.
