6. BJ Mack – Wofford Terriers

2022-23 season stats: 16.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.4 apg

Mack is a 6’8 forward who was one of the first big names to enter the portal. He’s big enough to play the center position but skilled and a capable shooter enough to be a four-man as well. The 4-year forward had nine games of at least 20 points, including 28 and 10 against UNC-Greensboro.

Mack had previously put out a list of the top five teams, which included Iowa and Alabama. He most recently took a visit to the Crimson Tide and they’re rumored to strongly be in the running for him. Mack fits their style of play and after what’s been nearly a month of recruitment should be decided fairly soon.

5. Kadin Shedrick – Virginia Cavaliers

2022-23 season stats: 6.2 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.4 bpg

He only has 34 career starts in four years at Virginia with pedestrian numbers. However, Shedrick is the guy that folks are hoping Sharp can be at the power conference level. The former Cavalier is known as one of the best interior defenders in all of NCAA Basketball, including several big games of either blocks or simply shutting down the opposing big man.

Shedrick has his own list of five teams in consideration, with Duke being one of them. That would be a huge set of news in the ACC if he joins the early favorite in the conference and would give them a veteran presence that doesn’t need the ball offensively.
