Georgetown Hoyas

Already, Hunter Dickinson’s recruitment has had multiple favorites. The first, when he immediately entered the portal, was Georgetown. It’s been a program that has been dormant for a while, especially in the last two years under Patrick Ewing, including two total wins in Big East play.

The Hoyas finally made the change and made a big splash, hiring Providence head coach Ed Cooley to take over the program. There was plenty of momentum and fanfare at the start of the offseason. However, not too much has materialized when it comes to landing transfers.

Georgetown has landed three players. One is a freshman transfer Dontrez Styles from UNC, along with Jayden Epps from Illinois. Rowan Brumbaugh is a former top-100 prospect and redshirt freshman from Texas. That’s an okay haul but outside of senior guard Jay Heath, there’s not much going on with this roster.

On one hand, it creates an opportunity for Dickinson to be the focal point of the offense and the star of Washington, D.C. However, they’re the worst current roster of the six teams involved. Unless they find a way to bolster the roster to become more appealing in the next couple of weeks, I don’t see them being viable much longer.
